About Us:

Letchworth State Park, renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East," is one of the most scenically magnificent areas in the eastern U.S. The Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls between cliffs-as high as 600 feet in some places-surrounded by lush forests. Hikers can choose among 66 miles of hiking trails. Trails are also available for horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Letchworth offers nature, history and performing arts programs, guided walks, tours, a summer lecture series, whitewater rafting, kayaking, a pool for swimming and hot air ballooning.

How do you even begin to describe Letchworth? As you drive to the entrance, you pass through flat farmland, drive through some trees, and a giant canyon greets you. It's truly magnificent how large this park is. There are a series of 3 waterfalls that we were able to walk to and visit in under 3 hours. The park does extend further north to a dam but we didn't have time to do it.

Most awesome gorge I have seen east of the Mississippi. Very deep. All three waterfalls are incredible. The biggest one, in the middle, is hardest to photograph. The other two have great views. This is wide open to the sun, so I recommend either a cloudy day, or right around sunset.

Large scenic beautiful State Park. Went on an early day trip. Foliage has not bloomed yet (May) but will be soon. Defo a travel spot to visit again. Many outdoor activities & camping. Glenn Iris Inn for fancy meal. Nice souvenir store available. Views are amazing. FYI...$10 Entry fee into the park. In the least, you must go there once.

Such a gorgeous, well-maintained park with stunning scenery. I visited for my sister-in-law’s wedding and would jump at the opportunity to vacation there and actually take advantage of the hiking and kayaking opportunities. Even for those stuck with strollers/wheelchairs, many of the most breathtaking views of the falls are accessible.

Love this park and would go every weekend. Think it is one of the best state parks in new York that I have been to for camping and/or staying for a day. Bathrooms were cleaned 3 times a day last time we camped there. To me that's awesome
