Louisville State Recreation Area

The scenic Louisville State Recreation Area has long been popular with eastern Nebraska outdoor enthusiasts and has now become an important adjunct to nearby Platte River State Park. The area boasts an excellent complex for Recreational Vehicles (RVs).

The area is situated on the south bank of the Plate River in Cass County, near the north edge of the community of Louisville on Nebraska Highway 50. It is ideally located for campers who want to enjoy not only this picturesque area itself, but also take advantage of the facilities at Platte River State Park.

Restrooms are disgusting. Not the nice place it used to be. The ladies in the office are very nice nice and helpful. We tent camp and had a good choice of spots as a walk in. People don't follow park or beach rules. Dogs at the beach which isn't supposed to be allowed. A lot of traffic through the park all might which I don't understand beings the park closes at 10pm. Was really hard to get any sleep at all between barking dogs, loud people til 2am, the car traffic and the trains that go by every 20 minutes. Oh yeah and people smoking in the beach and putting cigarettes out in the water where people and kids are swimming.

Ive been camping here with my parents since i was a little kid. We will never be coming back again. My dad has been camping down here for 2 weeks and nobody informed him after 14 days you had to leave. Its a holiday weekend and now the plans are ruined. The lady at the office said they can allow for people to stay for over 14 days but wouldn't allow it. Will not be back again.

I LOVE this State Recreation Facility! Lots of small, beautiful Kakes to fish in and great roads to walk or bike around.
