I have been going to Natural bridge state resort park all my life (and nearby Red River Gorge). A wonderful place to visit, camp, sit back and relax, enjoy beautiful mountainous scenery and fine bluegrass music and dancing. I go for the camping in the Red River Gorge (part of the Daniel Boone National Forest). Though it's been around as long as i've known it, recently it's been experiencing a "natural" growth spurt, both in popularity and in accommodations. Cabin rentals are plenty if you prefer, as well. Fishing is good, or just plain hiking works for me. Oh, and in the Gorge you can find many places to jump right in and swim, jump off rocks into DEEP holes of water, etc. I love the place! Two thumbs up!!

This park is a hidden gem! The restaurant has fairly decent food, there's a breakfast and lunch buffet available as well. The pool is clean and easily accessible. The skylift to the top of the bridge is fun and relaxing! The bar is the best feature! Shawna the bartender is fantastic, you must try the Kentucky Cherry Bomb! I highly recommend this spot!

Natural Bridge State Park is a great destination for camping! We stayed in the Middle Fork campground, which nestles right up against the Red River. Facilities are clean and generally well maintained and access to trail heads is easy. The state park itself is part of Daniel Boone National Forest and is a natural beauty. My only complaint was that electric hookups were poorly placed for many of the sites, including mine. There are many interesting sites to see in the area. Take a driving tour through the park to find interesting museums, local history, hiking trails, and small businesses (avoid tourist traps on the road in). The natural bridge itself is a wonder to behold! Make sure you explore the top of it and the surrounding bluffs.

The arch is really cool. I highly recommend going to the top and then afterwards hike across it and visit the lookout point. Gorgeous views! I went during the week, so can't speak to crowds over the weekend, but we had minimal other visitors to deal with and got plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenery with peace and quiet.

I didn't stay at the resort, but I did walk the trails and they were great. I recommend the balanced rock trail, it's a little more challenging but worth it. Once you get up to the natural bridge the views are amazing. And there are other scenic spots Once you get up there besides the bridge, like lovers leap, devils gulch to name a few.
