North Loup State Recreation Area is a 13-acre area adjacent to the Loup River. It has two ponds with a total of seven water acres. The area offers fishing, picnicking, and primitive campsites.

Fishing
The seven-acre lake at North Loup State Recreation Area offers bluegill, common carp, channel catfish, crappie and largemouth bass, among other species.
Hunting
Hunting opportunities at North Loup include quail, rabbit and waterfowl on 20 acres of land.
Boating
Only electric motor and non-powered boats are permitted at North Loup. There are no ramps or docks. The area does provide access to the Loup River.
Picnicking
The area offers eight picnic tables and seven grills.

Primitive camping
North Loup State Recreation Area offers 10 non-pad sites without electricity. There is not potable water on the area or water restroom facilities. A pit toilet is available for visitor use.
